Micropower Ultra-Wideband Impulse Radar

Researchers at the Department of Energy Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory created a method for detecting the presence, movement, and respiratory rate for people trapped under rubble from collapsed structures such as bridges, tunnels, and buildings. The innovative technology is low size, weight, and power, and has the capability to sense people through walls.

We are working to commercialize this technology in support of firefighters and search and rescue workers across the country.
